Jim grew up in Kildare very close to the Curragh Racecourse. Both of Jim’s parents were involved in the thoroughbred industry, and he spent his childhood attending every major sale and race meeting in Europe. Jim started at Coolmore upon finishing school, and spent 16 years working in all segments of the organisation . With Coolmore, Jim travelled the world spending a majority of time at Coolmore’s Hunter Valley base in Jerry’s Plains where he gained a great understanding and love of the Australian bloodstock industry. Gaining more experience in different thoroughbred jurisdictions, Jim also spent periods of time for Coolmore in Japan and China.
