Newgate Farm enjoyed strong results at the 2020 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale selling 10 yearlings for $790,000 at Oaklands this week with Golden Slipper winner Capitalist providing the highlight of the draft.
A stunning chestnut colt from stakes-placed Commands mare Capital Commander made $260,000 when secured by Hawkes Racing and was also the highest priced yearling by his sire sold at this sale.
Capitalist had 16 yearlings sell for $1,865,000 making him the leading first season sire by aggregate and fourth overall by aggregate with his average price coming in at $116,563.
Extreme Choice had three yearlings average $93,333, while Flying Artie had seven yearlings sell for up to $160,000 with Astute Bloodstock purchasing his top seller from Exceleine from Two Bays Farm.
Deep Field has had great results at the sales this year and his popularity continued at Premier with seven yearlings averaging $145,714 with his best return a colt from Dijonaise that made $240,000 for Bhima Thoroughbreds when secured for Hong Kong by Ricky Yiu.
