The very first horse to be sold in the Gold Coast sale ring at Magic Millions this year was a strongly built son of Newgate Farm’s first crop sire Brutal that sold for $210,000.
Consigned by Newgate and bred by our great client Nick Vass, the colt from Redoute’s Choice mare Janast was bought by Anthony Freedman Racing. He is the second foal of Janast, an unraced half-sister to stakes-placed Forbes from stakes-winner Booklet.
The second Brutal yearling sold even better with the half-brother to stakes-placed Flower in the Wind from Meadow making $260,000 for Raheen Stud when purchased by Cape Schanck Stud.
Deep Field’s brilliant son Cosmic Force was also quickly into stride with his first yearling into the ring, a colt from Joseph’s Coat, making $240,000 for The Chase when secured by Triple Crown Syndications. Bred by China Horse Club, he is the third foal of unraced Fastnet Rock mare Joseph’s Coat, a full sister to stakes-winner Saturn Rock and daughter of stakes-winning sprinter Satin Robes.
Tassort also had a good result with his first yearling sold fetching $160,000. Kingstar Farm offered the filly from Ms Mazetti that was snapped up by Michael Hickmott Bloodstock/Andrew Campbell Bloodstock.
