The Magic Millions National Weanling Sale this week featured the first progeny from our young gun sires Cosmic Force, Brutal and Tassort and they were all well received providing some great results for their breeders.
A Group II winner by Deep Field, Cosmic Force has put plenty of his own strength and quality into his offspring with six selling at an average $101,667.
Kingstar Farm bred and consigned his top seller, with the colt from Galileo mare Coral Reef fetching $190,000 when secured by Blade Racing. He is a half-brother to stakes-placed Miss Moana and Hollywood Mo as well as three other winners.
Coral Reef was one of 167 mares covered last spring by Cosmic Force, who looks amazing value this year priced at $11,000.
Rothwell Park Thoroughbreds also sold a Cosmic Force colt from Beatniks for $125,000 and Amarina Farm had a good result with their filly from Cuban Gold selling for $100,000.
A Group I winning son of O’Reilly, Brutal also posted some good results with his top seller the Bhima Thoroughbreds consigned colt from Tarragon that made $110,000.
He was bought by respected pinhooker Rhys Smith and is the second foal of an unraced half-sister by Reliable Man to Group III winner Good Fight and stakes-winner Pravana from Group II winner Pravda. The family also features Champion 3YO Filly Samantha Miss, the dam of Group II winner Miss Fabulass.
Brilliant 2YO Tassort had some lovely weanlings on offer and the son of Brazen Beau did best with the Emirates Park bred and sold colt from Olympic Dream selling for $55,000 to Bayside Bloodstock.
Respected judge Merrick Staunton also took home a Tassort paying $45,000 for the colt from Toriuss offered by Tullyard.
