The release of Australian Studbook statistics on covering sires last spring has proven a glowing endorsement for Newgate Farm sires with Tassort the busiest sire in Australia covering 232 mares at a fee of $11,000, while our exciting young gun In The Congo was the most popular first season sire covering 169 mares at a fee of $33,000.
An affordable blue-blood that we stand in conjunction with Emirates Park, Tassort has been quickly off the mark with four first crop winners and his star filly Manaal won the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes last Saturday assuring herself of a start in the Golden Slipper.
Our proven Group I sires Russian Revolution and Capitalist were again in hot demand covering 185 and 174 mares respectively with continuing success on the racetrack and in the sale ring ensuring their popularity.
While In The Congo led the way for first season sires, we were also thrilled with the support afforded his associate Group I winning sires State of Rest (IRE) and Artorius.
A four time Group I winner with a Cox Plate on his resume, State of Rest covered 148 mares, while Artorius, a dual Group I winning sprinter that was also placed at Royal Ascot covered 146.
We look forward to the arrival of their first foals this spring and the launch of new stallions in 2024.
