Our proven Group I sires Capitalist, Deep Field and Russian Revolution all enjoyed strong results at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale this week.
Capitalist had 10 yearlings sell at an average $214,000 with his highlight youngster, a colt from Rekindled Choice, selling on Sunday for $460,000.
Bred and offered for sale by Yulong, he was purchased by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / Kestrel Thoroughbreds and is from a sister to Group I winner Alabama Express with the family also featuring Everest hero Giga Kick.
“He (Capitalist) throws a very good, precocious type of colt or filly and we had inspected the yearling on the farm at Yulong and we were taken by him and when we saw how he was handling the sale here with his temperament, we were very keen to secure him,” Waterhouse said after the sale.
Deep Field had five yearlings sell for $200,000 or more with his top selling colt from Ascertain (USA) making $280,000 for Musk Creek Farm when secured by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Russian Revolution enjoyed nearly 100% clearance with 13 of his 14 yearlings changing hands and his best result was not surprisingly the full brother to his quality three year-old Communist, winner of last Saturday’s Group I ATC Randwick Guineas.
Consigned by Vinery Stud, the colt from Cappadocia was bought by MG Price Racing & Breeding Pty Ltd for $300,000. Cappadocia was covered by another of our young sires last spring in Wild Ruler.
