Five sensational days of trade at the Gold Coast for Magic Millions Book 1 saw Newgate Farm again finish at the top of the vendors by aggregate list selling 54 yearlings for $17,225,000.
Newgate sold two yearlings for seven figures with Russian Conquest’s half-sister by Snitzel from My Conquestadory(USA) fetching $1.25 million to the bid of Snowden Racing/William Johnson Bloodstock (FBAA)/Trilogy Racing, while our Zoustar filly from Alter Call made $1.15million when secured by McEvoy Mitchell Racing/Belmont Bloodstock Agency.
Our top selling colt was also the highest priced yearling for Capitalist with the first foal of well related Zoustar mare Menagerie selling for $850,000 to China Horse Club/Newgate/Go/Trilogy.
Capitalist had 30 yearlings sell in Book 1 at an average $289,333.
Deep Field had big numbers at this sale with 40 selling at an average $230,500 with his best result a filly from Taraayefthat made $650,000 for Segenhoe when bought by Bruce Mackenzie.
Demand for the progeny of Extreme Choice was again insatiable with 12 yearlings averaging $487,083 and he set a new benchmark with his first million dollar yearling when Kingstar Farm sold their colt from Sweet Bouquet for $1million to Aramco Racing/Mick Price Racing & Breeding/Rick Connolly Bloodstock.
Russian Revolution had 17 yearlings sell at an average $232,059 with his top seller the $500,000 colt from Hot Summer Night sold by Vinery Stud to Kia Ora Stud Pty Ltd/TFI/Ryan & Alexiou Racing Pty Ltd.
Newgate also launched three first season sires at this sale in Cosmic Force, Brutal and Tassort with all three posting encouraging results.
Deep Field’s brilliantly fast Group II winning son Cosmic Force had 12 yearlings average $150,417 with his top seller a colt from Coral Reef that made $250,000 for Sledmere Stud when bought by Bennett Bloodstock.
Group I Doncaster Handicap winner Brutal made his presence felt with 17 yearlings selling at an average $136,765 with his best result a filly from Meadow that made $260,000 for Raheen Stud when bought by Cape Schanck Stud.
Blue-blooded Brazen Beau son Tassort had four yearlings average $108,000 with his best result shared at $160,000 between a colt from a colt from Go Astray sold by Newgate to John Foote Bloodstock and a filly from Ms Mazetti sold by Kingstar Farm to Michael Hickmott Bloodstock/Andrew Campbell Bloodstock.
