With his oldest progeny turning five at the end of this season, Newgate Farm’s Deep Field has cemented his place as the leading sire of his generation topping the Australian Third Season Sires List by winners and earnings with just a month of the season to run.
Deep Field put the writing on the wall last year when siring 86 winners, which was a record for a second crop sire, and has gone right on with the job.
This season he has sired over 100 winners including five Australian stakes-winners headed by his first Group I winner Portland Sky.
He has also enjoyed notable success in Hong Kong and Macau producing 11 winners in these regions highlighted by Group III Sha Tin Premier Cup winner Sky Field and Macau Derby Trial winner Hostwin Achilles.
Completely free of Danehill blood, Deep Field is well established as a phenomenally successful outcross sire geared towards speed.
He stands this spring at a fee of $88,000.
