Champion 2YO and now leading first season sire Capitalist proved popular during the first session of the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Tuesday with 10 of his stock averaging $192,000.
His top seller was consigned by Newgate Farm, a lovely filly from Athena Lass bought by Laurel Oak Bloodstock for $375,000.
The second foal of Group III placed Athena Lass from the family of Group I winner Danglissa, she will be trained by Mark Newnham.
Other good sales were a filly from Caesar’s Princess that made $290,000 to the bid of Black Soil Bloodstock/John Foote Bloodstock/Gollan Racing and $240,000 for a filly from Booklet bought by Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott/Kestrel Thoroughbreds.
