Capitalist is having a good run with his two year-olds who include stakes-winners Sebonack and I’mlovin’ya. The Golden Slipper winning sire has kept the ball rolling on Sunday with Blonde Venture breaking her maiden with a dead heat victory in the $75,000 Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic (1200m).
Having her second career start following a fifth on debut at Pakenham earlier this month, the Shane Nichols trained filly looked set for victory until caught late by stakes-placed Jaguar Stone, who was the race favourite.
A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Newgate Farm draft, Blonde Venture was bred by Nick Vass and foaled and raised at Newgate.
She is the first foal from 2yo winning Redoute’s Choice mare Blonde Intuition, a sibling to Group III winner Master Ash and stakes-winners Come Hither and Fun in Flight, being from the Singles Bar branch of the Easy Date family that has produced Group I winners King’s Legacy, Oohood and leading sire Not a Single Doubt.
Newgate Farm sold the yearling filly by I Am Invincible from Blonde Intuition at Magic Millions this year for $550,000 to Chris Waller Racing and the mare has a Deep Field colt to follow.
