Several of the big Sydney stables had runners in the $200,000 Wellington Boot (1100m) on Sunday and with a competitive field of 13 going to the post it was talented Capitalist filly Everlong, who got the cash at her very first start.
Trained by Kristen Buchanan at Wyong, Everlong finished off with a rush for Jeff Penza to win by a half a length over seasoned stakes-placed maiden Quasimodo, who is long overdue for a win.
Everlong was a $240,000 Magic Millions purchase for Trilogy Racing/CB Bloodstock from the Kitchwin Hills draft and is the second winner from super fast Group II placed Nicconi mare Nieta, who comes from the family of dual Group I winner Sincero.
Everlong runs in the Trilogy Racing colours and is the ninth 2YO winner this season for Newgate Farm’s Capitalist, who has 12 entries for Inglis Easter.
