Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Karuta Queen was making news last month when her Written Tycoon filly made $1.5 million at Magic Millions 2020 and on Monday she produced another smart winner at Werribee.
Retained to race by John Singleton’s Strawberry Hill Stud and given to Tony and Calvin McEvoy to train, three year-old Deep Field filly Oh Please Dianna scored a head win as favourite in the 1100m maiden.
She was tenacious to the line in breaking the ice at her second start after finishing second on debut at Murray Bridge on New Year’s Day.
Oh Please Dianna is a half-sister to stakes-winner Eawase and is the second winner for Karuta Queen, who has a two year-old filly by Written Tycoon to follow called Pocket Goddess and then the $1.5million Written Tycoon filly bought by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock.
Karuta Queen delivered a Spirit of Boom filly last spring and is now in foal to Zoustar, who is by Deep Field’s sire Northern Meteor.
Oh Please Dianna is the 44th winner of the season for Deep Field and is his 40th three year-old winner.
Deep Field has 24 entries for the Inglis Classic starting this Sunday and you can see them here.
