A $100,000 graduate of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale himself in 2015, dual Group I winner Extreme Choice made a flying start to the 2020 Inglis Classic with three of his stock averaging $146,667 on Sunday.
Top seller for him was Kenmore Lodge’s colt from Elay Princess that made $170,000 when secured by Suman Hedge Bloodstock / Mick Price Racing.
The colt will be in good hands given Mick Price purchased his sire from this sale and trained him to Group I success in the MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and MVRC Moir Stakes.
He is the second foal of Elay Princess, a three-quarter sister to Group II winner Idyllic Prince.
“We really like Extreme Choice and bought one at the Gold Coast earlier,” said Suman Hedge.
“He was an elite two year-old that trained on at three and we think he’s leaving some great types.
“He’ll be trained by Mick Price, who trained Extreme Choice and he said this colt reminded him a great deal of his sire.
“We thought he was an ideal horse to buy with a view to the early two year-old races next year.”
His other sales on Sunday were a colt from Ben’s Duchess (USA) that made $160,000 for Newgate Farm when bought by James Harron Bloodstock and a colt from Chameleon that made $110,000 for Twin Hills Stud when bought by Matthew Smith Racing / John Foote Bloodstock.
