Newgate Farm enjoyed sensational results at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale selling 25 horses in Book1 for $2,228,500 with our stunning young lineup of sires providing seven of the top 15 lots sold including the sale-topper.
Deep Field achieved resounding success as the leading sire by aggregate with 20 yearlings generating $2,832,000 at an average $141,600 with six colts selling for $200,000 or more.
He had the top priced horse of the entire sale with his colt from Raheights making $380,000 for Torryburn Stud to the bid of Hong Kong trainer Ricky Yiu.
Deep Field is currently the leading sire of three year-old winners in Australia ahead of sires such as I Am Invincible, Fastnet Rock and Snitzel and his recent impressive Hong Kong winner Californiadeepshot undoubtedly has not gone unnoticed by Hong Kong buyers, who secured a number of his stock at this sale.
Capitalist was the leading first season sire by aggregate with 22 yearlings generating $2,369,000 at an average $107,682.
His top seller was also the top seller from the Newgate Farm draft with a colt from Pearl Congenial making $340,000 to the bid of James Harron Bloodstock.
Extreme Choice also had a booming sale with eight yearlings averaging $137,500 highlighted by a colt from Set to Skelter that made $280,000 for Bell River Thoroughbreds.
Our other first season sires Winning Rupert and Flying Artie both performed well, the former selling for up to $180,000 and the latter for up to $105,000.
