With a super strong market at Inglis Easter this week it was no surprise to see some very successful pinhook results and the best of them was a handsome chestnut colt from the first crop of Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside that sold for $650,000.
Silverdale Farm have had some big pinhook results in the past, most notably with the 2023 Inglis Easter sale-topper Autumn Glow, who they sold for $1.8million after purchasing her as a weanling for $600,000 and they featured at the top of the list again this year.
Silverdale Farm bought the Stay Inside colt from German stakes-winner Schwesterherz (Fr) from Sledmere Stud at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale for $120,000 and realised a big profit when selling him as a yearling for $650,000 to James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership / Tony Fung Colts.
He is the first foal of Schwesterherz, who has been married to Stay Inside and has a filly to follow and is back in foal to him again.
The colt was the highest priced yearling for Stay Inside at Inglis Easter and he had 10 youngsters sell overall at an average $332,000.
Sledmere Stud got a big result with the colt from star producer Abscond that sold for $450,000 to Anthony & Sam Freedman / Julian Blaxland Bloodstock (FBAA) / Kia Ora.
He is a half-brother to Group I winner Invincibella, Group III winner Secret Blaze, stakes-winner Extreme Warrior and to the dam of Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Aeliana.
Stay Inside also had fillies from Notting Hill and Soffika (IRE) both sell for $400,000 to Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / Kestrel Thoroughbreds and Ciaron Maher Bloodstock / E Lucas respectively.
