Tahnee Tiara – the dam of recent Group I Queensland Oaks winner Socks Nation – topped the Inglis Digital July (Late) Online Sale, selling for $545,000 in foal to young Newgate Farm sire North Pacific.
Offered by Milburn Creek – on behalf of her owner Ian Millard – Tahnee Tiara sold to Walnut Farm aka Yulong.
Speaking on the Tahnee Tiara sale, Ian Millard was delighted with the outcome.
“To be honest I wasn’t looking to sell her, but I was advised by [Inglis’ Senior Bloodstock Consultant] Harry [Bailey] and we decided to test the market and this result is very, very good,’’ Millard said.
“It’s a wonderful family but I’ve got three half-sisters to her so it’s not like I’m out of the family altogether.
“I was delighted with the way Harry and the Inglis team handled everything and I’m very pleased that she’s gone to a great home as well.’’
Tahnee Tiara has a weanling filly by North Pacific that has been retained by Mr Millard.
North Pacific had yearlings sell for up to $420,000 this year and will have his first runners next season.
