Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap winner Brutal has achieved strong results with his first crop of yearlings at the sales this year and posted his best result yet at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Victoria this week.
Consigned by Blue Gum Farm, the colt from Little Indian was bought by Griffiths de Kock Racing / Peter Ford Thoroughbreds for $320,000, surpassing his previous best sale of $260,000 for a filly from Meadow at Magic Millions in January.
The colt is a half-brother to Group II placed Typhoon Titmus from the family of Group winners So Si Bon, Faith Hill and Global Exchange.
He was described by the Blue Gum Farm team as, “A mid-November foal who looks like he is going places. Strong athletic type with plenty to come.”
Brutal has five yearlings to be offered at Magic Millions Adelaide next week.
Our other first season sires Cosmic Force and Tassort both had yearlings average $130,000 and $120,000 respectively in the Premier session.
O’Gorman Racing purchased the Flinders Park consigned Cosmic Force colt from Contrite Heat for $140,000, while NZ based Regal Farm bought the colt from Parjinka for $130,000 from Stonehouse Thoroughbreds.
Tassort did best with his colt from Could It Be Magic that made $130,000 for Longwood Thoroughbred Farm when purchased by John Foote Bloodstock.
