Calibre Racing Group had a big win on Saturday when Rush Hour won the $500,000 Magic Millions Debut (900m) for the Nathan Doyle stable and they reinvested that evening on a filly by first crop sire Brutal.
Russian Revolution colt Rush Hour made light of the difficult conditions at the Gold Coast today to win on debut and Nathan Doyle made mention of the fact he was the first yearling purchased by Calibre Racing Group.
“It’s a terrific result for the Calibre guys. It is the first yearling that they’ve bought as a syndication group and they’ve ended up back her in twelve months time winning a half-million dollar race so it is very good for them,” Doyle revealed.
Calibre Racing Group purchased a Brutal filly for $180,000 from the draft of Newgate Farm, choosing to go back to the same vendor where they found Rush Hour.
The filly is a half-sister to stakes-placed Lady Harlem and two more winners being from stakes-winning Fastnet Rock mare Harlem River.
This is the family of Everest winner Yes Yes Yes and dual Group I winning sprinter In Her Time, so if this girl can run there will be considerable broodmare value for the future.
