Russian Revolution has had three exciting juvenile winners this week in The Instructor, Red Resistance and Rush Hour with his top priced yearling at Magic Millions coming on Saturday night with a colt from Hot Summer Night Selling for $500,000.
Consigned by Vinery Stud, he is a half-brother to Group II winner Summer Sham and his third dam is blue hen Shantha’s Choice, the dam of Group I winners Redoute’s Choice, Manhattan Rain and Platinum Scissors.
Given his pedigree, it’s not surprising he was bought by Kia Ora Stud Pty Ltd/TFI/Ryan & Alexiou Racing Pty Ltd.
“It’s very much a stallion page and he’s got great looks himself,” said Shane Wright of Kia Ora.
“Russian Revolution is going great guns, even today he’s had a couple of very nice winners.
“He looks like a very racy type, very athletic. Gerald Ryan was very impressed with him, he’s going to train him for us, and he has had huge success with colts like that.”
Russian Revolution finished Book 1 with 17 yearlings selling at an average $232,059.
